Selection Principles
IBFA evaluates membership applications with attention to professional standing, public credibility, and relevance to the beauty and fitness industries.

The association is not structured as open purchase entry. Applications are reviewed individually to preserve quality, positioning, and professional integrity.
  • Professional Relevance
Applications should demonstrate a clear connection to the beauty or fitness sectors through work, leadership, business activity, or brand presence.
  • Public Credibility
Applicants are assessed with attention to visible professional standing, responsible representation, and market-facing credibility.
  • Association Fit
Selection also considers whether the applicant aligns with the association’s standards, positioning, and overall professional direction.
What Is Considered During Review

During review, IBFA may consider several factors that help determine whether an application aligns with the association’s standards and positioning.

  • Professional role and level of industry involvement
  • Company, organization, or brand relevance
  • Public professional presence such as website or LinkedIn
  • Years of experience and visible market activity
  • Quality and credibility of submitted information
  • Overall fit with the association’s selective international framework
Review Process
Applications are considered individually rather than through automatic approval. IBFA uses a selective review sequence designed to maintain a credible membership environment.
Application Submission
The applicant submits information through the membership form, including professional background and supporting public or business-facing details.
Internal Review
Submitted information is reviewed to assess relevance, credibility, and alignment with the association’s standards.
Decision and Follow-Up
Relevant applicants may receive the next steps regarding annual membership confirmation. Submission alone does not guarantee approval.
Important Notes
  • Applications may be reviewed with reference to submitted information, public professional presence, and overall industry relevance.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee membership approval.
  • IBFA reserves the right to decline applications that do not align with its standards or positioning.
